New interview with Frank in Kerrang!

Holding Out For An Iero
Interview: Sam Coare | Photos: Andrew Lipovsky

If there’s one thing Frank Iero doesn’t have on his hands right now, it’s time.

"It was my twin girls birthday yesterday," says the dad of three, picking up the phone from his home in New Jersey. "The girls just turned three, so they’re getting to that age where they actually know the party is for them, and they take advantage of running around and eating their body weight in cake. It’s like an animal house here."

Frank Interview With Epiphone
Frank Iero - The Interview
10.01.2012

My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero is not only one of our signature artists but he's also one of our favorite interviewees. Frank loves to talk about guitars and music and his enthusiasm for his craft is always abundantly clear. The Epiphone Frank Iero Phant-o-matic was released last year to great reviews. Frank and his mates from MCR have been hard at work in their studio in Los Angeles on a new album for 2013.

My Chemical Romance also recently announced that starting in October, the band plans to release 2 un-heard songs every month through March, 2013. The tracks were recorded just prior to the release of their last album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and are known among hardcore MCR fans as the Conventional Weapons sessions. "We hope you enjoy these time capsules, and that they may shed a little more light on how and where Danger Days came from, and maybe even where the future of MCR might be heading. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...and now it is finally time to lift the veil on Conventional Weapons," Frank announced on the official website. Epiphone caught up with Frank to get the full scoop on what he's been up to.

How to follow The Black Parade
Neala Johnson | March 21, 2012 6:30pm

DESPITE My Chemical Romance's fourth album falling flat in comparison to their hit album The Black Parade, the band have vowed that they'll only come back stronger.

1. BLACK PARADE CONQUERED THE WORLD

... But My Chemical Romance's follow-up album Danger Days fell sharply off the priority list. "I don't think anybody made a misstep," the US group's frontman Gerard Way says. "Not only did whatever happened positively or negatively sales-wise not affect the band, it didn't affect the world's perception of the band as artists."

2. THE GREAT SHAME IN ALL OF THAT?

Danger Days housed several shoulda-been hits that would have been huge were a different band's name on the cover. "If it had just been some random indie pop act that put out Sing, it would have been a massive tune," Gerard says. "We have an awesome bubble; sometimes that bubble is a barrier to getting things out there."

3. TIME TO DREAM IT ALL UP AGAIN

After spending summer on the Big Day Out, My Chem headed home to start album No.5 in their new studio. Bassist Mikey Way says he doesn't know what it will sound like, but it will wrong-foot unbelievers again. "People had formulated ideas about our band just based on seeing a kid in one of our T-shirts - and they were wrong."

4. THE LAST BAND ON EARTH

Sales rise and fall, but My Chemical Romance are survivors, says Gerard: "It's like building a better cockroach. There is s--- that's way bigger than us right now that's gonna be gone in two years and we're gonna be in the studio making an album. That's f---in' awesome."

Interview: MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE is "for f***ing life".
Written by Shahlin Graves | Friday, 24 February 2012 23:24

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE guitarist FRANK IERO is standing side-of-stage watching Best Coast's set at the Auckland Big Day Out. He applauds at the end of every single song, squinting thoughtfully in appreciation of the band, with frontman GERARD WAY joining him for a few minutes before it's time for the pair to prepare for their own set on the festival's main stage. Likewise, their band-mate RAY TORO has also been taking advantage of the day's sights and sounds, being quick to tweet his appreciation of a fellow band on the tour: "Vaccines on at BDO. Sound great!"

Dear friends, what follows is a few weeks of our lives in digital form. These photos were taken between the days of January 17th 2012 and February 6th 2012, as we toured the great lands of New Zealand and Australia respectively. As brothers we roamed these grand terrains. Friends were made, enemies slain, pie faces devoured with a quickness and fury. We are better men because of these (mis)adventures, but i must warn you... some of these images cannot nor will not be unseen.
enjoi at your own risk.
no worries. xofrnk

New Video Interview From Big Day Out
My Chemical Romance Answer YOUR Questions!

A few weeks ago we were given the opportunity to interview My Chemical Romance and, knowing how passionate you guys are (especially the MCRmy!), we wanted YOU to ask the questions.

So we put the call out over our Facebook and Twitter and, of course, we were absolutely inundated! After narrowing the questions down (with some help) we sent them to My Chemical Romance and eagerly awaited their reply.

What we were not expecting was this great video from Mikey, Ray and Frank!

Thanks to everyone who submitted questions! We read them all and appreciate you taking the time to send them in.
