Prior to taking on the role of lead singer of Frnkiero Andthe Cellabration, Frank Iero says voice was something he'd only dabbled in, which is why it made sense for him to seek out his vocal coach Deborah "Zuke" Smith.

Over the past three years, Epiphone.com has had a running conversation with Frank Iero, inventor of the Phant-o-matic Wilshire and co-lead guitarist with pop sensation My Chemical Romance. When MCR broke up in early 2013, Frank granted us one of his first interviews and we've been along for the ride as he stepped back, re-grouped, and began making music again. Frank popped in to see us during NAMM and offered Epiphone and many of our friends around the world a sneak peak at his new album Stomachaches. And of course, we sat down with Frank before the show to talk shop about guitars and the mysterious ways of the music muse.
Read the rest here.
FRANK IERO is exhausted: flat out, buried. He’s got deadlines he has no idea how to meet, commitments all over the place, and people everywhere he needs to talk to. He has a family too, kids to whom he wants to give his undivided attention and a wife he loves dearly. He’s got stuff going on all over the place.

7/8/2014 - SOME THINGS TO TAKE NOTE OF
hell-oh friends,
lot’s to address today, so pardon me but i’m just going to get to it…
first off, many many thanks to all of you that stayed up and tuned into the BBC 1 rock show last night/early this morning to hear the global premiere of weighted. you all must be exhausted. i would also like to thank Daniel P. Carter for playing my song and for being an all around super rad guy all these years. (if you didn’t already know this, he’s also a fantastic musician. check out Krokodil. shit’s brutal.) if you liked what you heard and were thinking ‘radio is just not enough damnit! i need to own a copy of that song right now!!’ well then you are in luck and can head on over to iTunes and when you preorder the record you will instantly receive your digital copy of weighted. but maybe some of you are thinking ‘radio is just not enough damnit! and the single and the preorder of the digital version of stomachaches are just not enough either!! i need a t-shirt as well as some vinyl, and/or a cd, and a giclée fine art print of an original painting signed and numbered by frank that’s limited to 250 copies in addition to the instant download of weighted!!!’ well then you too are in luck!! head over to the new store and you can pick up all of that exactly in whichever bundle you can think of!! hmm, but possibly you might be thinking ‘Hey but i live in the UK, don’t you have an exclusive UK shirt design or album bundle pack for me?!?’ well guess what? yes! you too are in luck. head on over to our UK store and you will find exactly what you are looking for!
ah, but then there still might be some of you that say ‘ok, very nice, but i in fact missed the BBC 1 global premiere, and i am completely devastated. isn’t there somewhere i could listen to the song while i order all these fine products?’ oh yes, you my friend are also in luck. the fine folks at B.CALM press and Staple Records have thought of just that. just head on over to our official youtube page and you can listen to weighted til your heart’s content.
but but wait there’s more! wanna come cellabrate the release of stomachaches with us? (you: yes!) ok good, because we are pleased to announce that the fine folks at Vintage Vinyl in Fords New Jersey were nice enough to invite us to their store to play you a few songs and sign some records on our release day, August 25th, 2014. (this is one of my favorite record stores in the world by the way.) more details to follow!
oh what’s that you muttered under your breath? you don’t live in NJ…you live in Baltimore, MD? well, guess what friend?! we will be playing our very own show at theMetro Gallery in Baltimore Maryland on Thursday October 9th, 2014.
see something for everyone! ok, but that will have to be all for right now because it’s my beautiful wife’s birfday today and i’m going to take her to breakfast. stay tuned for more news and shows soon. have a good tuesday. xofrnk
p.s. if you haven’t listened to the new music my friend geoff rickly has been working on you really must do yourself a favor and check it out. wow! No Devotion and the newUnited Nations. too darn good.
it’s the fourth of july, and i can hear explosions in the distance. being in the u.s. tonight that’s the tell tale sound of a good time…however i suppose if i were located anywhere else in the world there would be some cause for alarm.
if you haven’t noticed there’s been a bit of an overhaul to this here site. i’d like to thank my new friends taylor and vic over at vagrant for helping me out with my many internet deficiencies and making this all possible. in my opinion it definitely seems to be working better and i think it’s way easier on the eyes as well. so i hope you all enjoi it as much as america enjoys exploding color in the july night sky.
oh and if you like to read articles about guy’s named frnk, who can’t really spell too good, and have terrible stomachaches from time to time …then you should definitely pick up the current issue of Kerrang! magazine where they interview me about music i’ve made and then make fun of me in the captions. it’s so hilarious.
the issue i’m referring to has james hetfield on the cover… yelling.

actually, it seems like everyone on the cover is yelling.. except me and that girl holding a basketball. jeezus i do look pretty emo in that picture. ok anyway, that’s the one. be well friends. xofrnk

dearest friends and acquaintances,
hi, i would like to tell you all a little bit about my new record....
i am proud to say i have officially signed to Staple Records. and on August 26th 2014 along with my own imprint, B.CALM press, we will be releasing "Stomachaches." by frnkiero and the cellabration.
the new record will include 12 songs and clocks in around 40 or so minutes. all songs were written and performed by myself except for the drums on 9 of the songs, which were performed amazingly by my friend Jarrod Alexander.
i'm really looking forward to sharing this record with all of you. these songs came from deep inside me and became my salvation at a certain point. and up until this august i will have kept the majority of them a secret from everyone. they were just mine, and now i am ready to give them up to all of you. i hope that you may enjoy them.
xofrnk

hell-oh friends,
i meant to write/post this yesterday but i ended up getting some bad news about a loved one's health and had to go out of town. so today i found a free moment and wanted to give you all some belated news...
if you have a chance grab a copy of the latest issue of KERRANG! magazine, it comes with an american idiot tribute c.d. that i worked on...(if you can't acquire the actual magazine you can probably find the music on youtube or something)... oh, and while you're youtubing or yahooing or googling or binging my cover of extraordinary girl you should also definitely check out gerard's new song 'action cat' cause its really really good.
in addition to new music, Riot Fest just announced some new bands for their chicago lineup, and if you have the desire to look closely you might just see my name.
ok i think that's all the old news for now... please send some good vibes to my aunt sarah if you get a minute. she and the rest of our family could really use all the good vibes you can muster...
be well out there friends, thanks for taking the time to read. until next time, xofrnk

deer friends,
there are lots of great releases out today that will sound rad played at high volumes alone or with your friends.
i love music, and i love the hunt. go support your local record store...today and as often as you can.
xofrnk.
p.s. 'for jamia...', the 7inch record i made for my wife, is being repressed as a RSD exclusive and is available in stores today thanks to B.Calm Press & Photo Finish Records. <3.
harrow(ing) everybody,
details, i have a few...but excitement, i have loads.
so i'm happy to say there will be a 'for jamia..' 7inch re-release happening! my friends at B.CALMPress and my other friends at Photo Finish Records are teaming up to rerelease my first single for my second favorite holiday, RECORD STORE DAY! i got the test press in and it sounds amazing... i think it might even sound a little better than the 1st press. not sure why that would be, maybe i'm just psyched to have it out again. anyway, on April 19, 2014 head over to your favorite local record store and pick it up along with the other incredible releases exclusive to the event. actually wait, i just had a better idea... maybe you should head to your local record store THIS week and ask its surly owner to make sure they order a copy of 'for jamia...' by frank iero for RSD, and THEN head back there on 4.19.14 to purchase it. yea that's the ticket!
the RSD exclusive version is on pitch black vinyl, features slightly different artwork, is limited to 500 copies, and will only be available at participating record stores while supplies last. i just gotta say, it's pretty rad to have the record out again and super amazing to be able to work with Photo Finish and Record Store Day on the project.
in conclusion, i hope you are all well. there is lots more in the pipeline, but for now i will try not to let anything slip until the time is right. i'm gonna go build a shelf and work on some music real quick. xofrnk.
carving. playful. unnerving. posture.
blissful. bounding. boastful. instigator.
am i not the earnest bystander forgotten by time?
...and space?
(we're losing it.)
living. loving. loafing. gloss.
kissing. cussing. stressful. cousins.
your playful nature can't hide you for long.
(or will it?)
now go and forever delete this minute and a half.
pose and release. forgive without forget.
prose and regret. silently swallow it all down.
i've been better, but i've also been worse.
(oh, but haven't we all?)
smile or die.
we can live with or without the (fantastically)(desperate) game of chance.
-2014, frnkiero.
