Obviously you've never been the victim of sexual assault, so you must be finding it hard to understand what's wrong with Frank's comments.

Defending him and his right to free speech is very important to you, I get that. But the thing is, sexual violence isn't funny, and Frank's tweets have the potential to trigger victims.

I'm sure none of MCR would want that happening to any of their fans if they were aware it could happen, so as a fan community we have a responsibility to protect our members by alerting them to the fact that content behind a cut might be upsetting.

If you don't like what the mods have done here, you can leave the community. Simple as that.

Again, your opinion, I won't discuss that because I have a very different opinion about many things, a very different way to take things, and it doesn't have anything to do with Frank being the person discussed here.

I don't judge people so easily, I make lots of mistakes and make lots of jokes with things that could offend some people. I'm guilty of that. So I won't judge anyone for it.

Sometimes we can't even imagine that some things we say could offend and we also assume people will figure out we're not being serious. We all have different senses of humor, also. We all have fun in different ways and sometimes those different ways collide, that's all.

You say Frank's jokes could trigger victims? Okay, whether I agree or not it's okay if you wanna say that and ask for a warning, because it's what you feel. Now, people going as far as assuming he's a woman hater or whatever is going TOO far. I say lots of things as a joke that don't represent what I am, and I'd hate to be accused that way. People forget all the good we've seen/read/heard about him too easily.

Some people should just avoid Frank's twits if they can't handle his humor or just don't like him/is offended by what he says, easier. He's never offended me, I haven't changed my opinion about him. Some things are far more important to me that what he says in Twitter anyway.

And this is the last thing I'll say about this and about anything related to Frank's twits because really, this could be neverending and I don't come here for arguments.

If I left the community -which I won't- it wouldn't be because of anything the mods have done, whether I agree or not it's their decision. And I could easily ignore this entries since i see the twits in twitter anyway, so it's my own fault for being curious. I'll try to be stronger next time.

What we say and how we behave is EXACTLY what we are judged on, jokes or not. It's how we represent ourself that forms people's opinions about us. And Frank's isn't making knock-knock jokes here, come on.

His tweets show a habit of mocking women and finding entertainment value in violence against women. From his digs at how females choose to style their hair, right through to laughing about 'battered' women and stating that a woman whose children she couldn't control should have given herself an abortion.

Now, the fact that he's not put 'I HATE ANYTHING WITH A VAGINA' on his weekly tweets is irrelevant. These things listed above are textbook misogynistic traits. And you're probably right; he doesn't guess that people will be offended by it. But that's because he's male, and doesn't have to deal with the issues concerned from his privileged position. He is ignorant to the problems with his own behavior. That isn't a 'get out of criticism free' pass, sorry.

This is exactly how violence and disrespect against women is allowed to flourish and continue unchallenged. Because people aren't called out on it, and remain ignorant to it. Because people like Frank do it, so hey, what can be wrong about it?

Frank is an adult, and in a position of power where his twittered words are broadcast to millions of impressionable people via the band's website.

You're right, people can just choose not to follow him. But his insults and blatant sexism is attached to a band who claim to respect women and empower them in what is traditionally a very sexist music scene.

I didn't come here to argue either. But I think the people defending Frank here really need to think about how Frank himself might be at fault, rather than leaping to his aid every single time.

As a little girl, I was a victim of constant sexual abuse by my mom's cousin, and, growing up, I had to deal with jerks making actual stupid, disgusting, offensive, degrading comments about women. Comments I could actually say "fucking women-haters."

There are many different types of abuse. Misogyny manifests itself in many different ways. I have personally experienced being discriminated against in the workplace and been harassed sexually because I am female. Does that mean that you and I share the same mindset? Obviously, it does not.
