It doesn't seem like [livejournal.com profile] goaskjesus was all that bent out of shape about this. Look at her (his?) early comments. She acknowledges that it says in the US, but it also says it's limited to 2,000, and they must have meant it was 2,000 in the U.S., even though it read to her like they were saying there will be 2,000 of these printed, period. [shrug] She acknowledged what it is they must have meant.

For the record, (I didn't plan that, honest!) I think the language reads like there are 2,000 of these records about to be released, and the promotion is in the U.S. When that is actually not the case; the promotion is in the US, but they already released these exact records, and there are way more than 2,000 out there. Of course, anyone who cares about having one of 2,000 records will find this out on their own as soon as they do a quick due diligence search. But yeah, I can completely see why goaskjesus was confused (not pissed, not angry at the band, not accusatory...) by the language of "will be releasing" and "the disc is limited to 2,000 copies...." Not, this promotion is limited to 2,000 copies, or however they could have said it that imo would have been clearer.

It isn't a big deal, and people will figure it out, and when they do, they might be a little [furrowed brow] about it, is all.

Intentional or not, SOME people will buy a copy of this disc, with the belief they are buying something that is one in two thousand, which will not actually be the case. Thats the point goaskjesus was making, I don't know why some people got so tetchy about her/him bringing it up.

Jesus this isn't BL/ind people, we'ere allowed to question/be confused; mcr and warner make mistakes, it should be fine to bring up a fair point without being attacked for it.
