The Best Comics of 2009: Pop Culture Shock

…And because this is my list, and I’m publishing it, a little bit of an explanation. Basically, I decided to list, in no particular order, the titles that struck me as good this year. As good as Top 10 lists are for traffic and things, I find that it’s a silly idea to compare titles unless they are exactly the same. Which they never are. By which I mean, I loved Asterios Polyp, and I loved Final Crisis Aftermath: Run, but it doesn’t mean I want to characterize one as better than the other, they’re both great in their own way. Though Asterios Polyp is better. Anyway.

Point is, I’m not saying these are the best comics ever, I’m saying they’re my favorites from the past year. That I can remember off-hand. In alphabetical order.
