Just because you're right on one subject (equal marriage rights, etc) doesn't mean you can't be wrong on other issues, or that you never say dumbass, offensive things. It's not like people are divided into easy categories of 'evil' and 'good'. Frank supports a lot of good causes. Frank says a lot of horrible, offensive things. These are not mutually exclusive things. You can be a misogynist and support gay rights. You can be a racist and donate to children's charities. You can be xenophobic and love fluffy kittens.
