Am I the only one wondering why they felt the need to do this?

No, you're not. It's a good idea in theory, but do Chem really need another way of finding the crazies? I give it five minutes until it's swamped with, "I LOVE GERRARD!!!1"

Yes, and that's the thing I don't get. From a marketing standpoint I just don't see it being a positive cost-benefit especially given how nasty internet flame wars can get. They already had the email sign so I can't see it as a way to get more merch sales. I assume the idea is more fan "interaction" or at least giving fans the feeling of great connection with the band - mimicking the myspace forms of a band just building a fanbase - but I just can't help feeling it's not the wisest move.... much like the scheme to have fans upload gig pictures.

Oh, please, no. I feel like crying.

Were going to get a bunch of middleschool girls in skeleton gloves and too much eyeliner writing shit we dont understand because they can't spell it right.
